Engineering Innovation & New Energy Technology

Taking a comprehensive look at the current trend of global technological innovation and development, meeting the needs of sustainable and high-quality human development has become a central focus worldwide. Correspondingly, engineering innovation and new energy technologies have emerged as crucial drivers for future technological advancement. Concurrently, breakthroughs in microscopic research have brought revolutionary progress to multiple industries, particularly creating new opportunities in fields such as energy, machinery, and engineering. This program invites HKUST’s engineering professors to deliver lectures on engineering, electronic engineering, and new energy technologies, covering topics such as aerodynamics and drone flight control, sustainable energy, and battery technology. Furthermore, students will assemble powered gliders and conduct visual analysis of flight data, as well as tackle the challenge of practicing autonomous drone obstacle avoidance algorithms. Through the combination of theory and hands-on practice, students will gain an in-depth understanding of corresponding disciplines, and will also have an opportunity to visit tech enterprises or institutions to explore the advanced engineering technologies of Hong Kong.
