Feedbacks
There were two parts of the program that I particularly enjoyed. The first part was the lectures delivered by professors, and the second part was experiencing the local customs and culture in Hong Kong. Firstly, the professors explained academic knowledge to us in a humorous manner. Before this, I only had some theoretical knowledge, but I discovered what these things truly meant through the professors' explanations. I also gained a broader understanding of knowledge and no longer confined myself to one or a few points, enabling me to apply it more in the future. Secondly, the various visits during the program were also very impressive. It was my first time visiting the headquarters of a listed company, which was both an honor and a novelty. Through the visits and explanations from the employees, I gained insights into the company's internal operations, which was very enlightening.
—— Harbin Third Middle School International Department - Student Zhang
Professors' lectures at HKU taught me content I couldn't learn in mainland China. They explained the knowledge from textbooks with examples. My favorite part was visiting the New World Group and the Hong Kong Monetary Authority. It allowed me to see how Hong Kong companies and the financial system operate, and I also got to see the appearance of Hong Kong currency over the years. Different systems showed me other ways of presenting and managing economics, which made me feel the diversity of society.
—— School & Student: Guangdong Experimental High School AP International Curriculum - Student Mao
This program gave me a deeper understanding of finance, management, marketing, and other aspects, making it more straightforward to identify the specific sectors that suit me better in business and economics. For example, I am more suitable for outgoing modules such as marketing and leadership management. I developed more interest and gained my understanding and thoughts during the professors' lectures, which gave me a more definite direction when engaging in related professions in the future rather than superficially learning. Regarding human resource management and leadership enhancement, I learned to view and think about problems from four-dimensional perspectives and methods of coaching others, such as guiding them through questioning. I also greatly benefited from the professor's financial management course, which taught me not to put all investments in one basket or market.
