Program Introduction
Rocket Engineering Innovation Design Challenge
Commercial aerospace has been firmly in the core position of the world's aerospace economy, and has gradually become the main position of strategic competition among the world's great powers. ASDAN, together with LINKSPACE launch Rocket Engineering Innovation Design Challenge program for high school students. Students will be led by senior instructor of the National Space Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences, LINKSPACE technical director, systematically learning Electronic Information, Chemistry, Rocket technology and physical theories. By carrying out model rocket design, model rocket assembly, and model rocket launch, students finally complete a career experience from practice. Excellent students will also have the opportunity to obtain a recommendation letter issued by instructors.

Linkspace Aerospace Technology, Inc.
Lingsaoce is the first private aerospace company in China engaged in the development of carrier rockets. Headquartered in the Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone, the company has an assembly plant in Longkou, Shandong, and a rocket test base in Mangai, Qinghai. With its leading rocket recovery technology, it completed a 300-meter-high rocket recovery test for the kilometer-level recoverable rocket RLV-T5 on August 10, 2019. Linkspace has independently developed various products, including recoverable rocket validation models, liquid rocket engines, large engine test systems, solid rocket engines, and sounding rockets.
CHU LONGFEI
- CTO at Linkspace.
- Rocket engineer and space enthusiast majored in Aircraft Design at Beihang University (BUAA) and formerly worked at China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology.
- In 2019, he completed China's first reusable rocket development and flight test with the Lingke team.
LIU YONG
- Researcher at National Space Science Center, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
- Expert in China Science Communication PhD in Physics from the University of New Hampshire Expert consultant at the United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR). He has participated in various space science satellite projects in China and the United States and authored popular science books, including "Deep Space Probe" and "International Space Station."
Outputs
Learn rocket technology and launch principles, use OpenRocket software for rocket fairing design, and ultimately complete the assembly and launch of model rockets.
Feedbacks
My favorite part is rocket construction, which is commonly referred to as the practical section. By applying the knowledge acquired in class, I could research-related materials and contemplate how to optimize the design of the rocket body. Throughout this process, I've also learned to collaborate with team members, including collectively refining the fairing and studying the tail fins. This experience has enhanced my language proficiency and communication skills as I worked with others in the group.
—— Ealing International School - Student Li
My favorite part of the program was the theoretical class on rocket knowledge. We engaged in thoughtful discussions, actively participated, helped each other, effectively communicated, and discussed the principles and derivations of formulas. We learned about rocket equations and other rocket-related theoretical knowledge, which made us feel very fulfilled. The teacher prepared the lessons meticulously and humorously delivered them, making it easy for us to understand the concepts. Sincere thanks to all the instructors!
—— Jinan Xinhang Experimental Foreign Language School - Student Wang
I learned how to simulate rocket production using the software OpenRocket and gained insights into flight data graphs, landing data graphs, and fin design, maximizing the impact on rocket speed and stability. Meeting two renowned teachers was also a pleasure, which made me feel very happy and honored. I also gained knowledge about some calculation formulas for rocket engineering parameters, such as the rocket equation, aerodynamic formulas, formulas for circular motion and centrifugal force calculation, calculation of rocket shutdown speed in a vacuum environment, maximum rocket flight altitude, flight time, and other formulas, which was very rewarding.
